I’m Soulef Zaoui (You can call me Sue), the heart and soul behind the culinary blog Amour de Cuisine ( my french blog), that i’m translating now to english in this new adventure : My love of cooking

A mother of three, I now call England home, but my love for food and flavors has deep roots.

My journey into the world of cooking began in 2007 when I stumbled upon online food blogs and forums—vibrant spaces where people shared their expertise and culinary discoveries. Ironically, cooking wasn’t always a passion of mine. During my younger years, my studies took precedence over everything else.

With a degree from the University of Sétif in Algeria and a master’s in Industrial Chemistry – Chemical Engineering from Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg, I was set on a path of scientific exploration. But life had other plans.

Marriage and a move to England brought new challenges, making it difficult to pursue my professional dreams. Then, the arrival of my first child changed everything.

Motherhood opened my eyes to an entirely new world. The joy of nourishing my little family awakened a deep creativity in me—a desire to explore, experiment, and share. My love for chemistry never faded; instead, it found a new home in my kitchen, where I became a scientist of flavors, blending spices, uncovering global cuisines, and reconnecting with the culinary heritage of my homeland, Algeria.

What started as a simple curiosity—learning traditional recipes from my mother and grandmother—quickly evolved into an artistic passion for food photography and recipe development.

Even today, I challenge myself to improve, to create, and to share more.

Through Amour de Cuisine, my goal is to provide well-crafted recipes with carefully selected ingredients and clear, step-by-step instructions. I encourage my readers to engage, ask questions, and share their experiences. Every comment—whether praise or constructive criticism—helps me refine and enhance the content I create.

Because at the end of the day, cooking is about love, discovery, and connection. And I’m honored to share this journey with you.
